The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023 will take place in New Delhi, India, from December 12th to 14th, 2023.

The event will include key governing body meetings, various side events showcasing AI progress, and discussions on critical aspects of AI, such as responsible AI, data governance, the future of work, and innovation and commercialization.

Some of the side events during the summit include:

  • Industry panel discussions
  • Workshops
  • Gamechanger awards for start-ups
  • Research symposium
  • Hackathons
  • The Global AI Expo

GPAI is a multi-stakeholder initiative that:

  • Aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice on AI by supporting cutting-edge research and applied activities on AI-related priorities
  • Has 29 members, including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the European Union

India is hosting the annual GPAI Summit and:

  • Will assume the role of Lead Council Chair for 2023

The GPAI Summit 2023 will focus on:

  • Various critical aspects of AI, including responsible AI, data governance, future of work, and innovation and commercialization

As part of the Annual GPAI Summit, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is organizing:

  • A Global AI Expo, which will be held from December 12th to December 14th, 2023
  • The deadline for submitting applications for the Global AI Expo has been extended to November 15, 2023

What is the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI)?

The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) is a multi-stakeholder initiative established in June 2020 to guide the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in a manner that respects human rights and shared democratic values.

GPAI aims to:

  • Bridge the gap between theory and practice on AI by supporting cutting-edge research and applied activities on AI-related priorities

  • India, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United States, and the European Union
